Due to the high demand for the springbok meat which is exported to the European market and growing daily, more springbok are being bred as opposed to simply being wild. The skins supplied by African Gameskin are sourced as a result of a tender process and obtained only from one of the internationally recognized abattoirs.

The animals are culled in their natural enviroment and strict controls are adhered to when the culling season starts, May to September during Southern African Winter.

The culling process is managed by each individual farmer who is required by law to keep his or her herd in balance with the seasons in order to prevent over-grazing of the very dry and fragile land. All hides are obtained through Government approved herd reduction programs.
